Open House at the Cotton Mill Studios

Open houses at the River Arts district in Asheville are an interesting thing. I was able to participate at my friend Genie's studio. There was some traffic really only lookers and a little buying going on. Of course we were there to encourage sales. The benefit I found was being able to work and talk to people. I work all the time on my own and it was nice to work and have some company and share ideas. These experences are as Twila Tharp describes," scratching the surface". If your scratch enough something will happen. I say you never know.

"I have learned, as a rule of thumb, never to ask whether you can do something. Say, instead, that you are doing it. Then fasten your seat belt. The most remarkable things follow.
