Letters to the Land is a specific painting for Western NC.

 Many of my paintings have written words/text incorporated in the painting. The writing of letters is becoming a dying art. Writing words within the painting makes the surface come alive and puts my words or thoughts  within the landscape.  I do not always remember what was written it has just become part of the final result.
