Preparing for a show is not all about creating the work. It has a lot to do with getting the work gallery "ready". I hand paint the edges of all the paintings. I use a dark brown/black which is a custom color. I also prime the back of the wood panels with gesso. One the priming cleans up the look and second it helps to protect the entire painting helping to make it last for generations.
